i have a prayer request for everybody. you know ed from the furniture fair commercials? well he is in our office every now and then - i've gotten to meet him a couple times and he's a really super nice guy. one of his granddaughters has leukemia and everyone in our office pitched in and got a bunch of christmas presents for his grandkids. if you could, just keep his family in your prayers.

this has definitely been a thanksgiving to remember. from my car breaking down to my dad cussing us out and storming out of thanksgiving dinner, it's been real. i hope everyone has had as fun a time as i have the past few days. i have so much to be thankful for this year which far outweighs the bad. my friends and family are the best. i love you guys!! well, right now it's girly movie night so i gotta go! but before i do, i just thought i would share this photo of tommy and his family from their visit on thanksgiving. enjoy!

the reason i don't get to post very often anymore is that i am a lot busier at work lately, and once i get home i don't really feel like getting on the computer again! so there ya go. that's my excuse. but since james requested a post, i guess i will oblige him. i wouldn't want him getting his mustache in a twist over it.

so, last friday i decided at the last minute to drive down to lexington after work to see loni. it had been two weeks since we'd seen each other, which isn't really a long time, but we used to live together and do everything together and now she's far away and i missed her ok. so get off my back! well we stayed up all night long watching silly movies and having a good time - just like the good old days - tear. i was helping her get stuff ready for southwind's end of the year banquet that she was in charge of, which was saturday night. so here are a couple facts that we learned:

1. watching the chipmunk adventure as adults, after watching it like every day when we were kids, we still remember all the words to every song. you better believe it, cuz we're the girls of rock and roll!

2. dane cook was the waffler in mystery men. waffle man! gold and crispy - bad guys are histry!

3. it is possible (but probably not advisable) to stay up all night then leave at 530 am and drive from lexington to florence and back down to lagrange, provided you have the proper amounts of caffeine and avril lavigne.

4. listening to the cd version of stephen colbert's book is way funnier than reading it yourself. (note: james, you left it in my car so remind me to give it back to you on saturday)

that's about all i got. but i also wanted to let everyone know that the christmas musical at my church is december 15 & 16 at 7pm. consider yourself invited.

for all those wondering where i was last week, i was on a cruise! loni and i went with mom and her sisters and some cousins and friends, and grandma on a cruise to celebrate grandma's 90th birthday. it was the best vacation ever. if you have never been on a cruise you need to go on one! everything is already paid for and there's always something fun to do. plus the food is amazing and every time you turn around it's time to eat again! aside from having tons of fun on the ship, we also stopped one day in key west where i got to go through ernest hemingway's house, and one day in nassau where we visited cable beach! i took so many pictures, so as soon as i can afford to get them developed, i will put some on here for your viewing pleasure!

on a different note, loni is still in the process of moving into her apartment in lexington. she has some stuff down there, but a lot is still up here in her storage unit. and she has to have it all out of there by the end of september so she doesn't have to pay storage for another month! soo she and i will be making a couple trips down with her stuff this weekend if anyone is available to help! we can't exactly afford a uhaul at the moment, so we are going to be stuffing as much as we can into her boss' suburban and my car. it should be interesting! if anyone wants to help us load/unload or has a car or pickup they wouldn't mind driving down to lexington, any help would be greatly appreciated! we will be making trips saturday afternoon and sunday afternoon so just let me know if you would like to help

that's a quote from tommy when i told him i wasn't coming to visit him this weekend because i'm going to tennessee with my cousin kelly. cranny's house here we come! and we are having a cookout at work today woohoo! oh wait, i don't think i'm supposed to know about that yet, i think it's a surprise. well you know what they say about the receptionist knowing everything that's going on in the office. haha not really. (i can't wait for the new season of the office to start.)

mindy found a mouse in the dog food this morning. eek!

loni's home!!! well she is actually leaving again this afternoon to go to michigan for a wedding but she will be back on saturday. yay! i don't know how long she will be here before she moves to lexington though. anyways, i have missed her bunches and we are going to kings island on sunday. yippee skippee!

also, our birthday is in three weeks, which is the same weekend as the harvest home fair in cheviot. nice of them to throw a parade and street festival in honor of our birthday! if anyone wants to check it out let me know. i really wanna eat dinner for my birthday at this neato mexican restaurant in the bowling alley on glenway that mindy and i went to a while back. they have a mariachi band and they will come right up to your table and play/sing the happy birthday song! so i'm thinking we can get a group together and eat there, then either go next door and go bowling or go check out the festival. let me know what you think!

so apparently i am the only one who couldn't afford to go out and buy the new harry potter book. good news though, i now have about 20 people who have already finished it that i can borrow it from! (including my soon to be house mate mindy!) i don't own any of the other ones either, i just read loni's.

nothing really exciting is going on in lori-land, which is why i hardly ever write anything on here! i am just really glad that mindy is moving in this weekend because now i will have someone to talk to other than matt's dog. and sheba will have another dog to play with

no one is allowed to make fun of me for this, but i am totally addicted to big brother. i am going over to my cousin kelly's to watch it tonight. i hope kail gets evicted.

last night i visited tommy's parents (and i got to talk to him on the phone for a few minutes because he calls home on wednesdays). we had lots of fun - darlene and i watched my big fat greek wedding while tom was busy looking up videos to show me on the internet of people being tased. he said he would get me a taser if i want one. yessss

i get to go see loni tonight!! allisony and i are going down to louisville to see a drum corps show and hang out with loni! she is having lots of fun traveling around the country with southwind again this summer. she has more of a corps management type job than actually teaching like she did the past three years, but she is still having a great time. for example, when they had a free day in chicago she made sure to call me from the top of the ferris wheel on navy pier. i am kind of jealous that she gets to quit her job and travel around the country doing what she loves to do. no fair. whine whine. but at least i get to go to kendra and jonathan's wedding on saturday. and i even have a date. so what if it's my mom??
